Frequently Asked Questions

What is Operation: Destination Homebound?

ODHB is a non-profit transportation service for active duty and veteran service members, and their immediate families. Read more about us here.

What do I do if I need a ride sooner than 48 hours in advance?

If you are in an emergency situation and need a ride sooner than 48 hours in advance, please contact us by phone: (760)912-7395.

Do you offer rides outside of Southern California?

At this time we do not offer rides outside of the SoCal area. However, we have plans to expand in the future and interest from volunteers in other areas. Please connect with us on our Facebook page to see any news or announcements about expansion of our services.

Can my brother/grandmother/uncle use your services?

Unfortunately, we only offer rides to active duty and veteran service members and their immediate family. For the safety of our drivers and to verify eligibility we ask that riders show us their military ID.  We do offer services to direct dependents or spouses/significant others under certain circumstances. If you have a question about bringing someone along on your ride, please email us.

How do I volunteer to be a driver?

Please visit our Volunteer page and submit your information there. In order to being considered, you must have a current driver’s license that displays your current address, a clean record (no D.U.I.s, felony, or drug convictions), as well as a passenger vehicle in good working order, current registration and car insurance.
